Biblical Prophecy 3/20/10

The Landscape of the last days. Spiritual, Social and Political developments have been talked about here.

John is the chronologer of the new testament. The Book of Revelation is clearly chronological/ Dan 70th week. Abomination that makes desolate in Revelation and in Daniel

Essenes; a sect of Jews, were so good with Daniel and other extra biblical sources that they knew the day and hour that the son of God would fight a battle against the sons of darkness, they just didn’t know it would be via crucifixion.

In Genesis we learn that God put together the solar system and all that is beyond for times and for seasons and for events, insomuch that foreign men called magi knew that Jesus would be born and found where, when many in Israel had failed to now the day.

The magi clearly had the scripture and knew the scripture.

There are clearly a lot of things going on in scripture so that the time would not overtake us as a thief in the night. The catching away is not known, but the new time clock after the rapture is known clearly.

We need to take our responsibilities seriously as we see the last days coming. laying a good foundation for the kingdom of God and for strength and resources for it. The church should know how to position itself according to what is to come.

Biblical Prophecy 3/13/10

Northern Edom is modern day Jordan. Bozrah and Teman are completely unique to that place.  In Bozrah and Teman will be the judgment of the Lord against Edom.

In the last days the middle eastern culture of the old Assyrian empire and Babylonian empire area will be the dominant culture.

There will be many changes coming; like the birth pangs of a woman. Getting closer and closer together; wars and famine and changes in the earth. Cultures will change with these changes in the earth.

Matthew 24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

The word for divers can be significant.

8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

This is just the beginning of those birth pangs or sorrows.

9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.

This has not happened yet.

Biblical Prophecy 2/27/2010

Daniel’s 70th week.

Key things to remember.

The end of all of these things is to see righteousness and absolutely no sin for ages without end. The purposes of God are a sinless earth and an earth filled with people. Israel is God’s chosen instrument to bring to pass all these things, and the first and most important task has been accomplished, the Messiah has come! and he will come again.

Daniel 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

7 and 62 of the 69 weeks have already occurred; the 70th week is yet in the future. The first 7 weeks, 49 years were the rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem and the surrounding city. The next 62 weeks or 434 years were Israel holding against its enemies (including the wars of the Maccabees) until Messiah could come to the temple and be cut off; this Jesus did for us to make an end of sins and defeat the powers of darkness at Calvary.

Biblical Prophecy 2/20/2010

The social and political changes of the end times are again our focus. There is a great deception which means to lead people away from truth and we should be very aware. You must with all diligence seek after knowing God’s word. You must not allow things unlike God to be in your life. You must not model yourself after this world. So many are running in the opposite direction of where the Lord is calling them. Seek wisdom and understanding in the word of God more than seeking precious things.

Back to 2 Thess 2

2:1 ¶ Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,

Prior to this letter Paul had let them know about those who would remain to the coming of the Lord and about our gathering together unto him.

1 Thess 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

To be caught up is the same as to say rapture. Rapture is another word for caught up. First the dead in Christ rise and than those who remain are caught up to meet the Lord in the air.

Biblical Prophecy 2/13/2010

Spiritual and social issues are in fact more important than the political issues when it comes to end-times prophecy. We want to talk tonight about the spiritual condition of end-times prophecy and what it means for us.We should only believe what is actually in the word of God, many political ideas talked about today are not taught in the word of God.

The following passage is one of the hardest to understand so we will begin there.

2 Thess 2:1 ¶ Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,

2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

3 ¶ Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

A passage that is very compact and filled with many events.

the day of Christ will not come until there be first a rebellion.

Lest someone deceive you in some way because unless the rebellion comes first and then the man of iniquity be revealed; the son of perdition.

Two events must happen; a spiritual event (rebellion) and a political event; (the man of sin revealed) before the day of Christ can come.

2 Thess 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?

6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.

7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

Biblical Prophecy 2/6/2010

Overview of end time events.

The church looks for the coming of the Lord. The blessed appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ is the focal point of what the church spoke about. More than the antichrist they focused on the coming of Jesus.

Nothing has caused more confusion than the coming of the Lord; it caused great confusion among the Jews even in Jesus day. Even his disciples believed that all the prophecies of his coming kingdom believed he would set up his kingdom then.

*1 Thess 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

*1 Cor 15:51 ¶ Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

*Acts 1:11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

*Joh 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Everything in front of us focuses on the resurrection of the righteous dead. The first resurrection of which Jesus was the firstfruits.

The disciples did not understand that Jesus was going away; but he also said he would come back and get them.

The Lord is coming with myriads of his saints.

*Jude 14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,

15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

*1 Pet 1:7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

*Col 3:4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
