Promises in Revelation 2 and 3
The promises in Revelation that the Lord makes to “him that overcometh” in Rev 2:7, 11, 17, 26, 27 and Rev 3:5, 12, 21; when are they for? In other words, after the Lord’s return or are some of those promises for now?
All of these promises are for those who overcome, those who are part of the first resurrection on whom the second death has no power. They will be given out at the judgement seat of Christ prior to the 1000 year reign of Christ.
A New Name
I have heard some teach that in heaven we will receive new names. What does the scripture say about this and what is the purpose?
Rev 2:17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.
This is the only passage which speaks about this reward. Any doctrine should be confirmed with two or even better by more sources in the word of God. What is the new name? No one will know but the one who receives it.
1000 year reign of Christ
Is it true that after the Lord’s 1000 year reign on earth there will be another judgment and all those in hell will be brought and judged again?
Yes, there will be a judgment of all those who are in hell at the great white throne. All those who are part of the first resurrection are those on whom the second death has no power, they will be judged at the judgment seat of Christ prior to the 1000 year reign and will reign with Jesus during that time.
